- Channels — A channel is an independently controlled output. Single-channel suits one continuous zone; a 4-channel controller runs up to four zones — front, sides, gables — from one box.
- Power supply sizing — Every controller here is offered with a 350 W (standard), 450 W or 600 W supply. Larger homes and denser layouts call for more headroom.
- Long runs — When the data path gets long, a data booster helps the control signal arrive intact.
